Can I just come to 1 or 2 movies?
The program is a series of 12 classic films & lectures -- 6 films in the fall and 6 films in the spring-- Monday or Tuesday nights at 7. We try to program the series about 2 times a month. We do not sell individual tickets to films. Sign up for a Monday or Tuesday session and if you have a scheduling conflict you will be able to attend the other session -- no need to ever miss a classic film. And if you cannot attend a screening you are welcome to lend your membership card to a friend.

We start the program promptly at 7pm. Our speakers introduce the film briefly and then return to speak after the film. We have a brief question and answer period at the end of the lecture and the program usually ends around 9:30-10.

We always present a general program – comedies, tragedies, westerns, film noir, romances, science fiction. The selection is made with the speakers and the program director. We love hearing what films our audience would like to see and often we get film ideas from them. So don’t be shy and please let us hear from you.

How many people come to the program? And what ages are they?
This year, we expect an audience of around 700. Many people in their 30’s come to the program – they’ve taken a film course in college and know these classic films but never had the opportunity to see them on the big screen. We also have high school students, people working in the film industry or people who want to work in the film industry. And, of course, people of all ages who are looking for interesting, sophisticated programs. Half of our members enroll alone. They meet like-minded people at the program. We are very lucky. Without exception, every speaker who has been at our program has commented on the enthusiasm of our audience.-Back to Top-
